Himalayas

Three treks so far, each one a little higher. The mountains keep winning and I keep going back.

I go to the Himalayas the way some people go home. Every few years, a pass I have not crossed yet.

2019 Sandakphu 3,636 m · Singalila ridge, West Bengal The first one. From the top, four of the five highest mountains on Earth in a single line: Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu.
2020 Kedarkantha 3,800 m · Uttarakhand A winter summit, started in the dark so the sun comes up on the ridge. Snow the whole way.
2024 Kuari Pass 3,850 m · Garhwal, Uttarakhand Lord Curzon’s trail, with Nanda Devi filling the sky at the top. The highest yet.
